Ace Combat 7 In Vr Test: There Is War Over The Clouds
Flying has been a great dream of humanity. It’s completely normal by now. But how do I feel when I’m thrown into the cockpit using the PSVR? Time to find out.
” You have to try it out, Daniel “, colleague Marco enthusiastically talks to me. ” You really have the feeling to sit in the cockpit! “My first thought was for my stomach. Because, I have to admit here, I have in some – fortunately few – games problems with Motion Sickness. To put it simply: I’m sick of it if in a first-person shooter the so-called field of view is too small, the so-called head bobbing, ie the nodding and shaking of the head, too strong or the movement speed too fast.
It’s getting light. The PSVR goggles start their work. Instead of hurling me straight into the cockpit, I first land in the menu. So, in addition to the VR mode, Ace Combat 7 also offers a normal campaign. I’ll probably go to my heart, but first to the VR trip. Selected and already in the game. Instead of from the pursuers perspective, I look at the pilot directly out of sight. That is a difference to the campaign, explains Marco.
Speed is king
The cockpit looks good, the slightly lower resolution disturbs as usually in the VR version not particularly. But right in front of the eyes, everything looks sharp. Quite as immersive as a guy who put $ 25,000 in equipment for the perfect experience, I do not think so. But I feel like a real pilot.
The sky is burning blue in my retina. There is not much shadow. Finally, I am on an aircraft carrier in the middle of the ocean. The tower tells me that my wingman is allowed to start. I’ll wait a minute, then it’s my turn.
