Apex Legends: How To Manually Select Your Server To Reduce Lags
We’ll show you how to manually dial the servers in Apex Legends on PS4, Xbox One and PC, and reduce lags and connection issues.
Hardly a bigger online game is spared of connection problems and lags. Still, it’s unfortunate that such a thing happens to a Battle Royale shooter like Apex Legends and costs you a game.
That should help: Apparently, the choice of the server can make a big difference and reduce the problems. That writes at least u / SuperWeeble on Reddit. We’ll show you how you do it.
Manual server selection in Apex Legends – that’s how it works
How to choose the server on PS4 and Xbox One:
- Wait a few minutes in the title screen
- Press R3 / RS and select the data center
- There you can then choose which server you want to take
How to choose the server on the PC:
- Wait 60 seconds in the startup screen
- Press Escape and Cancel
- Then the data center should be displayed at the bottom of the screen
You can also find an overview of the PC servers on the server status page.
You have to keep this in mind: Always choose the server with the lowest ping and packet loss, because your connection will be better. A ping of 32 like Frankfurt 2 means a delay of 32 milliseconds.
Normally, the game chooses the best server for you, but that does not always seem to work. So you can stop the whole thing yourself.
