PC, PS4 And Xbox One: Weekend Offers From The Parallel Universe

Deals! Today there are fresh offers again! Juicy and fresh – straight from the ovens of great Spieleschmieden, and there is even a German here.

“Note from the parallel universe: Offers of the week is a strange confrontation with the discounted games, the Steam, GOG and the PS4 and the Xbox store not so randomly throw over the week on the garbage table. In addition, there are some other offers and free games that are sometimes hyped by my colleagues. Just because. The offers are (often) updated daily – except on weekends, when I look at Captain Marvel in the cinema. Yes, despite bad reviews. Have fun!”

Steam: Howd’y, Doom, Borderlands, and Prey!

Howdy, Y’all! On Steam, over the weekend, there’s a big Texas sale where all the games in, over or with Texas are being offered in the name of wonderfully discounted prizes! Oh – is there anyone else? Hello? Are you not interested in Texas games? Luckily I was kidding: Texas Sale is the name of the action only because of the many great games offered at the SXSW Gaming Festival (drum roll) in Texas.

Basically, it does not matter.

On sale, there’s DOOM with 25% discount for 14,99 Euro, Borderlands 2 with 75% discount for 7,49 Euro, Prey with 50% discount for 14,99 Euro and more. Just drop by and get your portion of Texas.

Humble Bundle: GRID 2 for free
Free! Post-shock! My Ross is-a-loos!

What more can I say? I’m not a GRID fan or I like to play racing games, but Humble Bundle gives you the 2013 Codemasters car racing game. Why not access? You’re not forced to play it. To download it, all you have to do is subscribe to the Humble Bundle newsletter, which I recommend anyway if you like to buy games for a small price.

Humble Bundle: Strategic, practical, good

The good thing about the Humble Bundle is one thing: the chance to win at least one – if not several – good titles in the entire bundle is high. Of course, this is because you can play a lot of games here for a small price – and sometimes you do not even have to fetch the entire package; depending on which title you laugh at. The new Strategy Bundle 2019 alone is worthwhile for the most important title, Civilization 6.

How did it work? For a certain part of the prize, you get certain games – you pay for everything, you can put all nine games into your digital library on Steam:

From 0.89 euros you get

  • Niche – a genetics survival game
  • Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation
  • Throne of Lies The Online Game of Deceit

GOG: Trüberbrook

You may not have heard of Trüberbrook, yet it’s one of the most promising German games in 2019. So far. The surreal sci-fi adventure will send you to the small air town Trüberbrook in the 60s. There you can slip into the worn-out student shoes of Hans Tannhauser, who landed by accident in this strange place, and from here to save the world. Trüberbrook orients himself to Twin Peaks, X-Files and Stranger Things – so yes, it’s supposed to be strangely bizarre-great (and there are dinosaurs).

The special feature: all scenes in Trüberbrook were completely handmade and then animated; Everything you see in the game is real. Almost real. As real as graphics can be. Trüberbrook gives it with 10 percent discount for 26.99 euros.

GOG: The Long Journey Home or Aww, beautifully told science fiction!

Are you also eagerly waiting for the next Star Trek episode every week? While I can not relieve you of this pain, Daedelic’s The Long Journey Home is a wonderful science-fiction rogue-like in-between. Not too long, but studded with Star Trek stories in a strange, wonderfully told universe. Crossing the wrong side of the universe through a Voyager-style accident, you have to find your way home alone. It will only be difficult if you run out of resources, your crew members strange weed out of their noses or even a bizarre alien race declares war on you. If you can not make it, no problem, you can just start over, because none of the trips will be the same. On GOG’s The Long Journey Home for 9.99 Euro.

Weekly tip from the parallel universe: Darwinia

If something is strange, it’s Darwinia. In fact, without much thought, I would have to admit that Darwinia is one of the most bizarre games I’ve ever encountered. It moves between strategy, puzzle, and Gods simulation, sending you into a virtual theme park populated by the weird Darwinians. When the program is hit by a virus, you are asked – but you can not directly influence the Darwinians, but you have to change the world around them with programs. Look at yourself:

Darwinia is an experimental game that crawled onto the market in 2005 and is now discounted at $ 1.79 on GOG . You need something different Do you the typical game stuff? You want to experience something bizarre and do not mind polygons and line art? Then you should take one, two or three views of Darwinia. Or you can just get GRID 2 for 0 Euro and be happy that you could get a bargain again. It does not matter if you play it or not.
