So Cool Is The Heart Of Azeroth In WoW: Patch 8.2. Blizzard has revealed how the heart of Azeroth will change in World of Warcraft. We show what the developers have planned.
In a live stream, World of Warcraft developer Jeremy Feasel has talked about many changes coming to players in Patch 8.2 Rise of Azshara. One of the biggest innovations is the revision of the Heart of Azeroth. We’ll tell you how the artifact necklace will change with the upcoming update.
Active Skills for All: Each player can make a selection on how to improve their heart of Azeroth. These enhancements are made via essences that players can unlock through different actions. Some may be in world quests, others in raids or PvP. These essences can then be placed in three sockets – one large and two small ones.
- The large plinth provides the active ability of an Essence and additionally its weaker, passive bonus.
- The small sockets give only the passive bonus of a chosen essence.
Essences have several levels:
Each essence exists in multiple ranks. They start with unusual (green) and go up to legendary (orange). Ranks not only increase the pure numbers of the ability of essence but bring more effects. For example, when upgrading from “rare” to “epic,” an essence might get a second boost for ability or damage other targets.
The final level (legendary), on the other hand, is cosmetic in nature and a kind of prestige reward for the hardest content, such as mythical raiding or high-level PvP.
Great choice for individuality: In the preview alone, 11 different essences can be seen, each with its own active ability. So it will be possible to strongly personalize the heart of Azeroth and choose exactly the ability to play the most. Whether they are well balanced, so that later not all run around with the same skills, of course, remains to be seen.
Incidentally, you can re-select the essences as you wish and exchange them in quiet zones, similar to talents. They are not consumed. Once learned, you can apply an essence infinitely often.
When will the patch come? Patch 8.2 Rise of Azshara is due to hit the PTR over the next week. If you want, you can try out the new developments yourself before they are uploaded to the live servers in a few months.
What do you think of the changes in the heart of Azeroth? Is this a better, cool system? Or is that just a drop in the bucket?
