CD project ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ does not only want to build on the success of ‘The Witcher 3’, but also surpasses it. For this you want to change some elements so that they reach a new level.
Quest Director Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz recently said that in an interview that revealed that they still rely on the same and meaningful decision-making system of The Witcher 3, but at the same time want to break the otherwise rigid loop of gameplay. Elements such as freedom of choice and the non-linear structure of the game will help to create a kind of new experience.
“We still have the elements that have appeared in previous games,” said Tomaszkiewicz. “As I mentioned before, we have choices, consequences, good characters, etc. I think the novelty of this project is the nonlinearity of the gameplay, which we take to the next level, which we first become aware of when playing through the missions.”
“That means there are many ways to accomplish missions, depending on how you’ve created your character, what tools you use, etc. I think that’s something that sets our game apart from The Witcher. Because in The Witcher we had a basic loop in the gameplay and found a nonlinearity in the narrative. This time, the gameplay also has a non-linear character. I think this is the big difference in the complexity of our missions compared to The Witcher. “
