Episode 5 of Game of Thrones Season 8 was arguably the most shocking of the season so far, with Daenerys Targaryen turning into “Mad Queen” and burning King’s Landing on top of his dragon Drogon.
Daenerys’ decision to burn the city, taken unexpectedly after the city is conquered, with the bells symbolizing surrender, is generating debate between fans, and many argue that the act does not make any sense.
Participating in the discussion, Reddit user ” Brooooook ” made a quick edit to the controversial scene, removing the soundtrack that originally appeared in the series and putting the song “Hell’s Bells” from Australian rock band AC / DC.
The author’s reaction was “I’m surprised how well it matches”. The reactions of the other internet users circulating on Reddit was similar, with another user commenting on “unbelievable how a different song can give a different feel, and how it blends perfectly.”
In fact, the lyrics to “Hell’s Bells” fit perfectly with the act Daenerys Targaryen, with the singer singing “I will not take prisoners, I will not save lives.” In the next verse, it is said “no one is fighting”, which again combines with the scene since the Lannister soldiers had already surrendered.
The last episode of Game of Thrones Season 8 goes on the air at dawn next Monday. The episode marks the end of the series.
