You can no longer buy Borderlands 3 from the Epic Games Store as the game disappears without explanation.
This morning, several publishers removed their games from Epic’s digital store, which is midway through their first major promotions, and 2K Games was one of them – with Borderlands 3.
Borderlands 3 was one of the games that you could buy in pre-order for less 10 € – it cost 49.99 € instead of 59.99 €.
Now, Borderlands 3 has been removed and only the information coming soon appears. “It happened when I was literally finishing it,” Rosselman wrote on reddit. “So frustrating.”
The 2K also removed the option to purchase the digital version of Borderlands 3 through the official website of the game.
Epic has not commented on the situation and says that any explanation will have to be presented by 2K. Yesterday, Epic said that consumers who were able to purchase the promotional price before being removed would pay the promotional price. You would expect them to do the same with Borderlands 3.
As reported yesterday, this is not an isolated case and maybe a reaction of the publishers to an early devaluation of the games. Lowering the price of a game before it has even been released could affect its launch, as promotions are a way to generate interest in the post-release months.
At the moment, you can not buy Borderlands 3 for PC. It’s a caricature situation for the one who might be the most profile exclusive in the Epic store. After long years associated with Steam, Borderlands 3 will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store until April 2020.
These issues with Mega Sale at the Epic Games Store certainly promise to continue to make that talk and if the store is shrouded in controversy practically from the first day in December 2018, these situations do not help at all.
