PlayStation Productions is producing a television series inspired by Twisted Metal.
Sony IR Day 2019, which ran this morning in Tokyo, Japan, one of the first projects of the new division is inspired by this series that was born in the first PlayStation.
Shawn Layden, president of Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios, unveiled yesterday the new PlayStation Productions that will be led by Asad Qizilbash to adopt Sony properties to other formats – such as TV series or movies.
Today, Tony Vinciquerra, president of Sony Pictures Entertainment, has confirmed that Twisted Metal is already in planning at PlayStation Productions and will be one of their first projects.
At the moment, we do not have details on what Sony has planned for this Twisted Metal adaptation for series, but we are curious to see how a vehicle combat game will result in this format.
The first Twisted Metal hit stores in November 1995 and became one of Sony’s first PSone references.
Twisted Metal for PS3 was released in 2012 as a reboot of the series and represents the latest game on this property.
