Red Sonja: Jill Soloway Will Replace Bryan Singer As Director Of The Reboot

According to Deadline, after separating from Bryan Singer Millennium Films chose Transparent Jill Soloway creator to write and direct the new Red Sonya movie.

“I look forward to bringing the epic world of Red Sonya to life,” the director said. “Exploring this powerful mythology and evolving the concept of heroin is an artistic dream that becomes reality .”

Last March, from the president of the Millenium, Avi Lerner, he found himself forced to dismiss Singer from the reboot for the difficulties encountered in finding a distribution, difficulties which, according to the reports, were due to accusations of harassment linked to the director of The Usual Suspects.

The study will soon begin the casting to find the new face of Red Sonja, a character who appeared for the first time in Conan the Barbarian comics who has already given life to a film adaptation known as Yado (in original Red Sonja) in 1985. In the film, Red Sonja was played by Brigitte Nielsen with Arnold Schwarzenegger in the role of Yado.

After working as a screenwriter for the popular HBO series Six Feet Under, Soloway conceived, co-wrote and co-directed Transparent for Amazon Prime Video. The show, which has reached its fourth season, will be concluded this fall with a final musical. Here you can find the transparent musical trailer.
