Xbox Project Scarlett’s retro-compatibility with your Xbox One games ensures that you can play in the future Microsoft console the games you buy for your Xbox One.
This means you can play Gears 5 on the next Xbox console and keep all your progress, but you can also enjoy performance improvements or visuals.
However, The Coalition’s Rod Fergusson has not confirmed Gears 5 as a cross-gen game and has not revealed the kind of improvements you might expect from the game running on Xbox Project Scarlett.
Fergusson talked to IGN staff and was asked about Gears 5 as a cross-gen game, which Microsoft confirmed for Halo Infinite, but did not share details about that version.
According to the leader of The Coalition, it is still early to talk about Gears 5 on the Xbox Project Scarlett and that, “At the moment, we are truly focused on what we have now, in terms of Xbox One X, Xbox One S and Xbox One Normal.”
“I think there are things as a first-party that you can probably assume about what we can and can not do, but I think it’s too early to talk about it.”
Gears 5 will be released on September 10 and you will have to wait a bit longer to find out how it will run on the Xbox Project Scarlett.
