Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, a geolocation game with the same formula as Pokémon, generated revenues of $12 million in the first month, according to data advanced by Sensor Tower.
Compared to Pokémon GO, it is a much lower value. Sensor Tower data points out that Pokémon GO generated $300 million in revenue in the first month, 25 times more than Harry Potter: Wizards Unite.
The game was also developed by Niantic, the creators of Pokémon GO, but could not register the same performance. Still, if we exclude Pokémon GO from the scene, Harry Potter Wizards Unite was more successful than all other competing games.
For example, Jurassic World Alive posted $10.3 million in revenue in the first month, slightly less than Harry Potter Wizards Unite. As for the number of downloads, the Harry Potter game has been downloaded over 15 million times, more than Jurassic World’s 6.5 million downloads.
