A decade has passed since Zombieland wowed viewers and fans are eager to see the new adventures of Tallahasse & co. in the sequel, Zombieland: Double Tap, due out in October. And if it depended on Emma Stone, it wouldn’t even be the last adventure of this impromptu family hunting for zombies.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, director Ruben Fleischer was asked if in the future there could be the possibility of a third chapter of the franchise. And while the director’s response was simply based on waiting for the box office results of this sequel, Emma Stone had an interesting idea that offers several points for reflection.
“Emma said it would be fun to do one every ten years,” Fleischer explained. Who also joked that one of the other stars of the film, Woody Harrelson, is ‘the healthiest guy there is’ and that he will survive us all… so we can continue to do it every ten years, until the end of the times’.
Of course, ten years between one film and another from Zombieland is a pretty long wait for the fans, but Ruben Fleischer explained that he and the cast wanted to try many other experiences.
Experiences that led to several Oscar nominations for Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg and Emma Stone – the latter victorious for La La Land. Meanwhile, Ruben Fleischer has directed one of the most profitable films of recent years, Venom.
In any case, the gang is back in the first Zombieland: Double Tap trailer, with a new setting shown in the poster, released a few hours earlier.
