After Avengers: Endgame and Aladdin, Disney is celebrating another blockbuster hit with the movie “The Lion King.”
Disney’s latest theatrical movie has grossed over $962.7 million at the box office and helped the company achieve its best results ever.
Over these seven months, Disney has grossed more than $7.67 billion and surpassed the 2016 figure of $7.61 billion. To date, Dinsey is the only studio to be able to earn more than $5 billion in revenue in a single year.
Directed by Jon Favreau, the movie “The Lion King” is very close to joining Disney films such as Avengers: Endgame, Aladdin and Captain Marvel which in 2019 managed to generate over $1 billion in theaters.
For the rest of the year, the company will also feature films such as Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil, Frozen 2 and Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker, which are sure to help make its 2019 results even more impressive.
