In the past few hours, Star Wars titles have been announced that will be featured on the Disney + on-demand streaming platform already at the time of launching the service.
According to a report by CNET, the first subscribers of the interesting and highly anticipated Disney + will be the three films in the classic trilogy ( Episode IV – A New Hope, Episode V: The Empire Strikes Again, Episode VI: The Return of the Jedi ), those of the prequel trilogy ( Episode I: Phantom Menace, Episode II: Attack of the Clones, Episode III: Revenge of the Sith ), the first stand-alone Rogue One spin-off : A Star Wars Story and finally Episode VII: The Awakening of the Power.
Absent illustrious the most recent episodes of the saga, namely Episode VIII: The Last Jedi and the spin-off Solo: A Star Wars Story , victims of an agreement previously taken between Disney and Netflix : the two films will remain for some months on the service streaming of the great N, but Disney expects to integrate them into its catalog within 12 months of the launch of its proprietary platform.
While waiting for these two absences, however, at the exit of Disney + The Mandalorian will be available, the first live-action franchise series.
As for the future, however, it was also announced that Star Wars: Episode IX – Skywalker’s Rise will debut directly on Disney + less than a year after its release in theaters.
