It – Chapter 2: The Children of the First Film Will Be Digitally Rejuvenated

The technology that makes it possible to digitally rejuvenate the actors has taken off in recent years, from the extraordinary results achieved by Marvel Studios with Robert Downey Jr., Michael Douglas and Kurt Russell at the highly anticipated Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman.

It seems however that this “trick” will not be reserved only for veteran stars: according to what revealed by the director Andy Muschietti, in fact, the expected It – Chapter 2 has used this technology more and more widespread to rejuvenate the young protagonists of the first film.

“Well, it is better to turn two years later than five years later. But in these two years they have grown quite a bit,” explained Muschietti in the latest edition of Total Film (via Bloody Disgusting). “Not all though. Sophia [Lillis] is exactly the same. Jaeden is also practically the same. Finn has grown quite a bit and is a very tall guy. But we knew from the beginning that those special effects would be part of the budget. So we will rejuvenate children. “

Although the second chapter focuses on the adult versions of the losers’ club and their return to Derry, the It 2 final trailer confirmed that the film will also feature space for a series of flashbacks that will also involve the protagonists of the first movie: Jaeden Martell, Wyatt Oleff, Jack Dylan Grazer, Finn Wolfhard, Sophia Lillis, Chosen Jacobs, and Jeremy Ray Taylor.

We recall that It – Chapter 2 will last 165 minutes with a director’s cut that will go beyond 3 hours.
