Universal Pictures Signs an Agreement with Phil Lord and Chris Miller for the Film Division


After the extraordinary success of Spider-Man: A New Universe as producers and screenwriters, Phil Lord and Chris Miller entered into a long-term agreement with Universal Pictures to produce various original content and intellectual property of the firm.

Directors of P iovono Meatballs, 21 Jump Street, 22 Jump Street and the first The LEGO Movie, Lord and Miller in recent years have contributed to the scripts of The LEGO Movie 2 and especially of the Oscar-winning Spider-Man: A New Universe.

According to what was revealed by The Wrap, which underlined how the two authors were requested by many Hollywood studios, the contract provides for the development of products both for the comedy side and for the drama of the original content and not of Universal. The study also confirmed Aditya Sood, recently appointed head of the film division of Lord Miller, at the head of the division dedicated to Universal films.

Also following the success of the first animated film dedicated to climbing walls, last April Lord and Miller signed an exclusive 5-year agreement with Sony Pictures for the development of a television universe based on the Marvel properties of the studio. The arrival of a sequel to A New Universe is also confirmed.
