A film can change a lot during the work and for many different reasons: Marvel productions are no exception, as often told by the experts. The latest revelation in this regard concerns Avengers: Infinity War which, according to what reported by Joe Russo, should have enjoyed a quite different narrative.
The director who is also responsible for the creation of Avengers: Endgame has indeed talked about the process of writing Infinity War as something quite complex and for which many very different attempts at approaching each other were necessary: it even seems that the film was initially conceived as a sort of gangster movie, with Thanos also serving as a narrator.
“There was this possibility that Thanos would narrate the entire film, which should have taken on the tone of the gangster movie, with this narrative from his point of view. It was an interesting experiment, it made us understand a lot of things about the character, but in the end, it didn’t work in the overall performance of the film,” said Joe Russo.
Despite the curiosity to know how this first version of the film would come out, however, we certainly cannot say that we are dissatisfied with how Infinity War came about. It seems, on the other hand, that the very first version of the script did not please anyone! Recently, meanwhile, Tom Holland has unveiled a rather curious scene cut from the final version.
