Shazam 2: The Sequel Will Further Deepen the Adoptive Family of Billy Batson

The director of Shazam!, David F. Sandberg stated that the sequel will explore more ‘Shazamily’, the adoptive family of Billy Batson and his alter ego superhero, who may be facing a rather important threat. The film stars Asher Angel in the adolescent version and Zachary Levi in the adult version.

“It seems that we can do more with the Shazam family. We have just introduced them but we could go into how a superhero family works, “Sandberg explained to Backstory Magazine when asked about the plot that could be developed in the sequel.
“We have also included a small mid-credit scene with Mister Mind, and we could go that way. Or we could introduce another villain. There are many to choose from in Shazam’s world. ”

As David F. Sandberg has not been able to hold back in the final phase of the first film has endowed Freddy (Jack Dylan Grazer), Mary (Grace Fulton), Eugene (Ian Chen), Pedro (Jovan Pena) and Darla (Faithe Herman) of the same magical abilities that transform Billy into Shazam, creating a family of flying superheroes.

“I saw a lot of online speculation about children turning into adults but people thought that there would be no way to do it in the first movie and that we would reserve it for the sequel,” the director explained.

“For us, on the other hand, it was ‘no, we do the best we can now.’ You never know what will happen so you should not restrain yourself for no reason. Furthermore, the film is based on the theme of the family”.

Zachary Levi explained that he would like to see Shazam with Wonder Woman and Aquaman, explaining that the crossover with Black Adam could be in the third movie.
