Colin Firth divorces his wife Livia after 22 years of marriage.
Colin and Livia Firth are divorced. They remain close friends and hold together for their children, the couple’s spokesman writes.
In a news release to People, Colin and Livia ask for peace to deal with the difference and stress that they will not comment further on this.
The couple has two boys in common. The eldest son, Luca, is 18 years old, while Matteo is 16 years old.
The couple divorced two years after Livia revealed she had a secret relationship with another man. In March 2018, it was reported that Livia had an 11-month relationship with an Italian journalist. The couple lived separately in 2015 and 2016.
Livia later accused her ex-lover of persecuting journalist Marco Brancaccia, 55. Brancaccia denied the charges.
A few years ago, Colin and Livia made a separation decision. During that time, Livia began dealing with her former friend, Mr. Brancaccia. The Firths have since returned together, wrote the couple during a turmoil in a news release.
Italian police investigated Brancaccia’s actions in 2017. Livia accused the reporter of “harassment campaign”, which the man denied.
It’s true that Livia and I have known each other since youth. In 2015-2016, we had an 11-month love affair, Brancaccia told People magazine in 2018.
The relationship ended in June 2016 and I haven’t called her since. I sent him two Whatsapp messages. One birthday congratulations and one email to Colin I really regret, Brancaccia said.
Brancaccia was charged in May 2018 with persecution after authorities found emails referring to her on her phone. However, the case was settled out of court in July 2018.
Colin and Livia got married in 1997. They first met in 1996 at the BBC’s Nostromo series. They moved to Italy and they had two sons together. Firth has acquired Italian nationality.
